You don’t have to be in (or out of) the Armed Forces to join!

Here at the Burbage & Easton Royal British Legion Club (BERBL), the last six months have been really busy, the kitchen is now up and running and the menu has been set (including a takeaway menu).

With donations from some of our members, proceeds from our social fund and a football card we raised enough money to buy a 42 inch television – great for watching the World Cup live and any other sporting events.

Over the last few months we have had the Valentine Disco with Urban Jungle, and for Easter we had bingo, a prize draw and Easter Disco.

Busker (duo) Andy & Ross played here again in May. They are very good, singing songs from the 60’s to present day and we are looking forward to seeing them again later in the year. We also had the Tabletop/Car Boot-Sale at the beginning of May and have another one on the 3rd of July 1pm-3pm: £5 pay & pre-book or £6 on the day, so sort out your unwanted items and book your table or car. We also had a quiz and a disco/karaoke with Gary Swatton and very entertaining that was too, people doing a Britain’s Got Talent, “Worst Bits” (including myself ha ha!!). Gary will be entertaining us again with another disco/karaoke on June 26th, we are having a BBQ on the same night, weather permitting.

We have Quiz night on 25th June, we normally have it on the 3rd Friday in every month but due to the world cup it is a week later this month.

Other regular events include Bingo every Sunday night, doors open 7.30pm and the first game starts at 8pm. Non- members 50p entry fee. The Parish Council Village Maintenance Team (PCVMT) volunteers are welcome to enjoy a cool (or hot!) refreshing drink after their labours on the Village Maintenance Day, held on the 3rd Saturday of each month. We open for an hour or so on those Saturdays from 12.00 noon especially for you!
